By installing a rainwater tank customers can capture and store this precious resource to help take the strain off our town water and save money on the water accounts.

If you are intending on connecting the tank tot he toilet or washing machine you will be required to have the plumbing work inspected by one of Councils officers before you can apply to receive the rebate.

How do I apply for a rebate?

1 - Submit our online Rainwater Tank Compliance Checklist. Once submitted, the application will be assessed by a Council Officer who will then provide an exemption verification to proceed with the installation of the tank. The exemption verification is a check to determine if the tank installation is exempt from the need for Development Approval. The exemption verification must be obtained before you can apply for a rebate. 

2 - Install the tank. If you have chosen to connect the tank to your internal plumbing, such as the toilet or washing machine, you will be required to arrange an inspection of the connection to ensure Plumbing and Drainage is in accordance with AS3500. 

To book an inspection, contact Council's Development Services on (02) 4429 3211 (Nowra Office) or (02) 4429 8999 (Ulladulla Office). Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the inspection is required and any dogs on the property must be restrained. Inspection fees apply. 

3 - Apply for Rebate using our online Rainwater Tank Rebate Request. To successfully proceed you will require an Exemption Verification Number and an electronic copy of the tank receipt.
